One of the most popular types of tortoise is the Sulculta Tortoise, yes, there is also the Galapagos Tortoise, but personally, one of our favorites is the sulculta. Sulculta Tortoises are the second biggest in the world. We have a sulculta as well as some other reptiles and snakes. We consider ourselves to be experts in caring for a pet tortoise, as we have tons of experience caring for our own sulculta, as well as some other reptiles and snakes.

We like to have sulculta tortoises as pets, because they are known for living many years. In fact, some tortoises are known for outliving humans. You need to know the proper procedure for tortoise care in order for them to live for a long time. If you do not follow the proper procedures, then you could very well kill them. You should also pay attention to their eyes, because they can get crust on them. They are also known for catching colds. Can you believe they can catch colds from humans? Colds to them can be deadly.

You can gently handle them when they are young, but when they grow up, they are heavy and can be hard to handle. You can use a colorful edible flower, or a piece of fruit in order to lure them where you need them to be. When they are little, you can keep them in a vivarium, but the sides should not be too deep, because they need an air flow. You can feed them grass from outside, but you need to make sure there are no chemicals. You can also build cages outside for them, but you should always have a top over it, because there are other critters that prey on them. You may even have to have a heat source, depending on the temperature in your area.

If you do keep your tortoise outside, you need to make sure that he is able to find both direct sunlight as well as shade. If your tortoise is brought indoors, you will need to set up some form of artificial sunlight that can last around 14 hours or so. This can be done by using a full spectrum UVB light, as long as you replace the light on a regular basis. Tortoise care can be very rewarding, but it is best that you only take on the responsibility if you understand WHAT the responsibilities are. Do a lot of homework and gain as much knowledge about your breed of tortoise as you can. If cared for properly, you and your tortoise can develop a wonderful relationship.
