When it first comes home with you, present the crate to your dog.Choose a crate with enough room and is comfortable. For this, you need a crate big enough for an adult-sized dog.Throw in some old towels to make it cozy.Allow your new pet get over chewing prior to buying him anything more expensive.

The crate works for your intent very well.In the same way you see your room, you want your dog to regard the crate as his room.Use the crate for pleant things only; not for punishing your dog. After some time, your pet will see the crate as a safely comfortable place. And when he comes around, that’s to your advantage. The crate helps to control your dog when you’re not home.

Potty-training your Dog.

Generally smart and obedient breeds, your pet needs consistency and frequency.Because they’re relatively small animals you’d be making plenty of trips outside when potty-training.Watch your puppy keenly in the first few days. When he shows signs of needing to eliminate, take him outside to his designated potty area in the yard.Repeat your potty command while the dog is pooping and pat him for doing it.Sooner or later, your dog will start to associate the command with the potty. When still in the house and the dog unintentionally poofs, take him outside to the deposit spot and state the command sternly.

The Bully Dog Syndrome.

When you’re out with your dog and another dog is in sight, he’s likely to be insecure.Too bad for small dogs, they show their insecurity by howling and barking loudly, annoying the other dog.Left on his own, your bichon frise could end up in trouble with a nastier pitbull. That’s a disturbing thought. So when you’re walking outside with your small dog, keep this things in mind.

Hold your dog with a leash to maintain control. The leash prevents your dog from going beyond his boundaries.

Stay calm and confident especially when there are other dogs present.Your dog imitates your behavior. If you’re not bothered, you dog feels the same way, too. That takes care of the insecurity and dispels the need for bullying the other dogs.

Allow your bichon to be introduced to the other dog.Speak at a low voice while holding your dog at a safe distance from the other dog.
