Swimming Is Not For Chicken?
Posted Under: Farm Ranch
I am a farmer in a small village outside Sussex. I was sitting in my porch last weekend and thinking if chicken could swim. I have seen ducks swim but never seen a chicken swim. I got two swimming pools in between the farm and the house, one for family use and another for the ducks. Ok fine it’s not a swimming pool for ducks it’s just a pond to be honest. I just wanted to see if chickens can be good at anything else other than running and laying eggs?
So I took one of them and threw it into the pond just like the lady in the video. And yes they do know how to swim, but as from the video you can see they do not like water hence they try to get out of there as soon as they can. By the way make sure you clean your pool with swimming pool chemicals and swimming pool filters after you have thrown a chicken on to the pool, if you do of course. I don’t think you would want to swim in a dirty pool?
Yes this might be a crazy post but did you know chicken could swim before this? May be one or two of you might have known about this but for most people this is the first time they actually knew about it. Recently I asked my friend if chicken could swim. He told me he tried once but his chicken couldn’t swim and started to drown. Thankfully the chicken survived. Though he didn’t realise she was about to lay eggs and she couldn’t swim then.
By the way I am not saying to try this with your chickens and throwing them into a pond. This post is just to give you an information on if chickens can swim or not. Use the chicken for what they are best at. This post is informational.
