When it comes to buying new fish for your tank it is actually a lot more complicated than you might think and this is because there are a number of key things you must always be thinking about before you can pick the fish and take it home with you. Here are just a few tips on making that new fish last longer and giving it a great new life in your tank.

Checking Requirements

you need to make sure the fish that you are looking to buy will actually fit inside your tank well enough in that the environment you have is suitable. If you are really unsure on whether or not your fish will be fine in your fluval edge or marine fish tank then make sure you speak to a member of staff at the place because they will certainly know what they are talking about, at least, they should do!

if you are looking in the tank and you see some ill looking fish then I would not buy from that tank. This is because a disease could be passed around making your purchase a waste of time and more importantly a waste of money.

When you are adding fish to yourtropical fish tank make sure you leave the bag in the tank with the fish still in it for a good 15 minutes and this is so the fish can get used to the temperature you have in your tank!

only add a few fish at a time because otherwise they can suffer from something known as new tank syndrome and this can actually end up killing them off which is never a good thing.

If you follow these tips I am sure your fish will be fine in their new tank and will have a long and enjoyable life!

It is your choice in the end!
